Northwest Mississippi Community College spotlights surgical technology student Kimberly Straughter

Northwest Mississippi Community College is spotlighting Kimberly Straughter of Aberdeen, who is in her final semester of the Surgical Technology Program at the college’s Oxford Campus.

The college said surgical technology students complete rigorous classroom and laboratory instruction before graduation, as well as extensive clinical training across a wide variety of surgical specialties. The training prepares them to enter the profession.

The spotlight was shared during National Surgical Technologists Week. The college said it was celebrating Straughter and its other students while honoring surgical technologists as skilled professionals and essential members of the operating room team involved in patient care.
