Northwest Mississippi Community College spotlights Metallica Scholar Tucker Pannell
Northwest Mississippi Community College is highlighting Tucker Pannell, a sophomore Precision Manufacturing and Machining Technology student from Indianola, Mississippi, who received support through the Metallica Scholars Initiative. Pannell is expected to graduate from the program in spring 2027.
Pannell said the scholarship has encouraged him to remain committed to his education and future career. He said it has also given him greater confidence because others believe in his potential and want to see him succeed.
He enjoys the program’s hands-on learning and said it is helping him develop practical skills that directly prepare him for his future career. Pannell also said he is excited to make new friends, learn from others and challenge himself to become more independent.
Pannell said much of his motivation comes from his love for his family and his desire to set a positive example for his younger sisters. He also described a passion for helping others, whether by assisting someone with a job, working with his hands or being present when someone needs help.
