Northpoint Christian School leader Manley passes away
Northpoint Christian School today is mourning the loss of its long-time administrator, David H. Manley, who passed away overnight. The school announced the passing of Manley in a Sunday morning news release.
Manley had been battling Parkinson’s disease since he announced his retirement as Head of School in November of 2017. Manley had served a role as President Emeritus since his retirement. Prior to that, Manley spent 39 years serving as either Head of School, principal, teacher, or coach at SBEC/Northpoint.
Mr. Manley touched the lives of thousands of students, faculty and staff members throughout his career and years of service. His legacy continues at Northpoint Christian School through the David H. Manley Golf Tournament and David H. Manley Scholarship that rewards a $6,500 scholarship to a graduating member of the senior class.
“Our hearts are heavy this morning with this news, but we rejoice and take comfort in knowing Mr. Manley is healed in heaven,” current Head of School Jim Ferguson said. “We know he is hearing the words, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant!’ Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Manley’s wife, Tony Manley, to his three sons (Nick, Josh, and Kyle and their families), and to all who knew and loved him during this difficult time.”
Funeral arrangements were incomplete as of Sunday morning. The school will share those when they are made complete.
