Newborn infant found dead, police seek to find mother

The Southaven Police Department is asking for assistance finding a mother whose newborn infant was found dead and left at a local residence, an incident that took place on Thursday, March 24.  

Police received the report that a newborn had been abandoned on the front porch of the home. Officers arriving at the home found the baby had passed away.   

The search is now underway for the mother and Southaven Police are asking the public that if anyone knows anything about the mother they should come forward and report that to the department. 

“We are concerned for her health and well-being,” according to the Police Department news release. “Together, we can move forward, and provide the necessary resources for this mother and family.”
