Natchez hosts Deep South Garden Club convention

The 59th Annual Convention of the Deep South Garden Clubs, Inc., was held March 6-9, 2022 in lovely Natchez, MS.

“Explore the Beauty of Natchez,” was the theme of the convention, and members that attended represented the six states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee.

Highlights of the convention included a dinner at the historic home, Magnolia Hall which is owned by the Natchez Garden Club. Another highlight was also given by former National Garden Club President and The Garden Clubs of Mississippi past President, Gay Austin who gave a report on the purchase and installation by the Deep South Garden Clubs concerning the Blue Star Memorial sign that was placed on the capitol grounds in Jackson,MS. Every Blue Star Memorial pays tribute to our veterans. This one was also to honor Gay Austin for her outstanding contribution in her role of leadership in all federated garden clubs’ organizations.

The DeSoto Civic Garden Club is a member of the National Garden Clubs, Inc., Deep South Garden Clubs, Inc., and The Garden Clubs Of Mississippi, Inc., Hills and Delta District.
