Southaven Police: Missing Teen and Baby Found Safe
A Southaven missing teen and her infant son have been found safe, the Southaven Police Department said Tuesday afternoon. In an update posted at 4:45 p.m. on Oct. 6, police said 17-year-old Shana Warren and her 11-month-old son, Jacob Warren, “have been safely located,” and thanked the public for its help.
The department did not say where the two were found or share any other details about the circumstances. No charges were mentioned in the update.
What Police Said About the Southaven Missing Teen
Southaven police had asked the public to watch for Shana Warren after she was reported missing. According to the department’s original alert:
- On Oct. 3, at about 2:30 p.m., she was taking an Uber to the area of North Watkins Street and Whitney Avenue in Memphis.
- She was described as a white female, about 5 feet 2 inches tall and 185 pounds, with black hair and green eyes.
- She was last seen wearing a gray hoodie and black pants.
- Police believed she was with her 11-month-old son, Jacob, who was last seen wearing a striped shirt and blue shorts.
The department had asked anyone with information to call its investigators or send an email tip. Tuesday’s update replaced that request with word that both mother and child had been found.
Community Help Makes a Difference
Missing-person alerts from local police often spread quickly through social media shares, and departments across DeSoto County regularly credit residents for passing along tips. Southaven police thanked the public for its assistance in this case.
This is the second missing-juvenile alert from Southaven police in recent days. Earlier this month, the department also asked for help finding a missing 14-year-old.
How to Report a Tip to Southaven Police
Although this case has been resolved, residents can use the same contacts the department listed in its alert to share information about other cases:

If someone you know goes missing, especially a child or teenager, contact police right away. There is no required waiting period to report a missing person. It helps to have a recent photo, a description of clothing, and details about where the person was last seen and who they may be with.
