DeSoto County officials are announcing that the annual Household Hazardous Waste Day and Waste Tire Recycle is set for May 6. Hours are from 8 a.m.-12 noon at the Landers Center.

The County Environmental Services department each year offers the event as a safe way for residents to dispose of items classified as household hazardous waste.

The collection event is a community service funded by the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality in cooperation with the County Board of Supervisors.
