DeSoto County hosts Household Hazardous Waste Day Saturday at Landers Center
DeSoto County Government is holding a Household Hazardous Waste Day and Tire Recycling event Saturday at the Landers Center. The event runs from 8 a.m. to noon in the southeast corner parking lot, near Turman Drive and Pepper Chase Drive.
The event aims to help residents dispose of unused or leftover products containing toxic chemicals. Items labeled caution, poisonous, toxic, flammable, or corrosive should not be thrown away with regular household waste, according to organizers.
Ken Adams, mayor of Olive Branch, reminded residents to participate in the event and properly dispose of hazardous household waste. The event is part of the county’s efforts to promote environmental safety and proper waste management.
