Horn Lake police demonstrate tactics, safety at library summer program

Horn Lake Police Department said in a post that its officers took part in the M.R. Dye Regional Library Summer Program. Recruiting officers demonstrated and competed on an obstacle course, the post said.

K-9 officers and their partners performed demonstrations, the post said. Detectives discussed online safety and gang awareness and offered attendees a hands-on look at fingerprinting techniques, the department added.

Members of the department’s TACT Team displayed specialized equipment and described their role within the department, the post said.

The department thanked parents, children and students from MITI Kids and thanked M.R. Dye Regional Library for hosting, and said it looks forward to returning next year, the post said.
