Horn Lake police outline traffic, safety rules for July 2 fireworks

Horn Lake Police Department said fireworks at Latimer Lakes Park are scheduled for July 2, 2026. Gates will open at 7 p.m., and the show will begin about 9 p.m., the department said.

The department posted a map it said identifies the fireworks fallout zone, road closures, post-show traffic flow and an emergency staging area. Officials asked attendees to review the map before arriving and to avoid moving barricades or driving around them, the department said.

Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult, the department said. Alcohol is prohibited because the department described the event as a family gathering. The area marked as the police staging area is reserved for officers and should not be parked in or blocked, officials said.

Attendees should expect heavier-than-normal traffic before and especially after the show, with congestion likely around Tulane Road and Nail Road, the department said. Officers will direct traffic and the department asked drivers to follow designated patterns; the north parking lot will exit west toward Nail Road and the south lot will exit east toward Tulane Road, it said.

The department asked for patience and consideration to help keep the event safe and to speed departures. The department said it looks forward to celebrating with attendees and wished residents a safe Fourth of July.
