Goodkind announces campaign for House District 7 seat
The House District 7 Republican primary on Tuesday, Aug. 8 is a three-person race with the official announcement by Southaven resident Jamey Goodkind that he is running for the nomination and thus, the election, since no Democrats officially qualified.
Goodkind, an insurance field claims representative, is running in the primary against Kimberly Remak and Dr. Progeorlan M. Walker.
In making the announcement, Goodkind said he wants to bring a positive change to Mississippi.
“My top priority is our Mississippi First agenda, which aims to tackle inflation head-on by eliminating the state income tax and creating a more business-friendly environment,” Goodkind said. “I am also a strong advocate for states’ rights and will work tirelessly to ensure that American values are instilled in our classrooms by protecting parental rights and promoting a Child-First education system.”
Describing himself as a proven conservative fighter, Goodkind wants to make a real impact in Mississippi.
“With the support of our community, I am confident that we can achieve great things together and build a bright future for our state,” Goodkind said.
