Cook announces candidacy for House District 6 

Jarvis A. Cook Tuesday announced that he has qualified for candidacy on the ballot for House District 6 as a Democrat. 

Cook is an Olive Branch resident and native who graduated from Olive Branch High  School, Northeast Mississippi Community College and the University of Mississippi. Cook recently completed a Master of Science in Human Resource Management from Strayer University. He currently is a Human Resource Generalist at Kuehne+Nagel. Cook is also a licensed minister. 

“Working in Human Resources has afforded me the opportunity to build relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and contribute to their lives in meaningful ways,” Cook said. “I desire to be an advocate for change and a voice for all people. You can count on me to represent District 6 well, most of all the State of Mississippi.”

Cook’s announcement comes just one day before the Feb. 1 deadline to qualify for the August primary and at this time Cook is the only Democrat to announce a candidacy.
