Dream Center to host DeSoto Wings and Ribs Competition and Festival

The tantalizing aroma of sizzling wings will once again fill the air as the DeSoto Wings and Ribs Competition and Festival returns to Olive Branch City Park on April 6. From 11 a.m.-4 p.m., wing enthusiasts and families alike are invited to indulge in a day of flavor, fun, and philanthropy. This year, prepare for an even more thrilling experience as we crank up the excitement with the addition of a mouthwatering rib category! But wait, it gets even better – we’re proud to announce that the Rib Cookoff Association will be officially sanctioning the rib portion of our competition, guaranteeing an electrifying showdown of sizzling ribs like you’ve never seen before! Faith & Fires Ministry is joining the competition to host a Cook’s Church devotion the morning of the competition.

Organized by the DeSoto County Dream Center, this annual event isn’t just about delicious food and entertainment – it’s about giving back to the community. All proceeds from the DeSoto Wings and Ribs Competition and Festival will directly benefit the DeSoto County Dream Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to spreading Christ’s love to the underserved in our community by providing essential resources such as food, clothing, healthcare, and educational assistance.

“We’re thrilled to bring back the DeSoto Wings and Ribs Competition and Festival for another year of mouthwatering excitement and family fun,” Jenna Kern, Director of the DeSoto County Dream Center. “By participating in this event, attendees not only get to enjoy fantastic food and family entertainment but also contribute to a worthy cause that uplifts and supports our community by helping them to Dream Again.”

In addition to the wings and ribs extravaganza, the Wheels and Wings Fest, in collaboration with The ARC Northwest Mississippi, will feature a Car Show from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., adding even more excitement to the day’s festivities. Families can look forward to a variety of activities including bounce houses, games for kids, food trucks, live music, and a wing eating contest. Admission is free to this family event. People’s Choice Wing Tasting tickets will be available for purchase.

Teams eager to showcase their culinary prowess can sign up for various categories including Traditional Wings, Unique Wings, and Ribs. Additionally, participants can register for the Wings People’s Choice category, where the winner takes home half of Wings People’s Choice registrations, contributing further to the charitable cause.
