DeSoto County Dream Center, a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to Title 1 school students and their families in DeSoto County, is proud to announce its upcoming event, Backpack Giveaway. This highly anticipated gathering will take place on Saturday, July 15 at Latimer Lakes in Horn Lake.

The DeSoto County Dream Center, through the Backpack Giveaway, aims to give away over 1,000 backpacks and school supplies for students in DeSoto County in need. Their goal is providing students with backpacks and supplies to ease the financial burden on their family as well as praying for each student. The DeSoto County Dream Center is an organization that focuses on relationships with the families they serve. Through prayer with each student, they meet an even deeper need than just the physical.

The Backpack Giveaway will be a FREE day of family fun for DeSoto County students and their families. There will be bounce houses, face painting, fake tattoos, pictures with boy and girl characters, snow cones and hot dogs.

DeSoto County Dream Center would like to express its gratitude to Homer Skelton Charitable Foundation who have generously supported this event.

Together with their 180 valued volunteers who spend a hot summer day serving, they can make a significant impact and bring about positive change in the DeSoto County community. DeSoto County Dream Center strives to spread Christ’s love and build hope to the underserved in our community by providing food, clothing, quality healthcare and educational assistance to Title 1 school students and their families. When poverty is addressed, communities thrive, and people begin to see a better way. We are a community resource providing a “hand-up” rather than a “hand-out.” By offering the basic necessities of food, education, clothing, and healthcare, we are giving families and individuals an opportunity to Dream Again.
