DeSoto Civic Garden Club supports Household Hazardous Waste Day

The annual Household Hazardous Waste Day was held Saturday, May 6 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Landers Center in Southaven. This collection is a community service funded by the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality in cooperation with the County Board of Supervisors.

It is offered each year, usually in the spring for residents to dispose of items classified as household hazardous waste, such as LED bulbs, pesticides, fungicides, and all paints.

Hazardous household waste is any unusual or left over portions of products containing toxic materials. The DeSoto Civic Garden Club is pleased to continue to support this community effort by the County Environmental Services and County Board of Supervisors.
