DA’s office aids ICE to deport illegal criminal alien

Feb. 7, 2025-The DeSoto County District Attorney’s Office has announced that it is coordinating with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to have Aldofo Rual Vazquez-Santana, a criminal illegal alien, swiftly deported out of the United States.

Santana is currently being held on charges of child pornography. District Attorney Matthew Barton said he is requesting that Vazquez-Santana be sent directly to Guantanamo Bay, before deportation.

This request is based on the severity of his crimes and the threat he poses to the public,  particularly to vulnerable minors. The DA’s office believes that his actions warrant a  level of security and oversight that would be best ensured in a facility such as  Guantanamo Bay, given its capacity to securely detain individuals who pose a serious  threat.

“My office is committed to ensuring that those who prey on our children are held  accountable, and I cannot think of a better place than Guantanamo for this predator,”  said Barton. “Aldofo Raul Vazquez-Santana’s alleged crimes are among the most reprehensible offenses we encounter, and we are doing everything in our power to make sure he is removed from this country and detained in a secure facility where his opportunity to reoffend will be eliminated.”

Vazquez Santana’s deportation is being carried out in partnership with ICE. The DA’s  office will continue to advocate for his detention at Guantanamo Bay, ensuring that  justice is served for the victims and that he is no longer a threat or financial burden to  Mississippians.
