Chick-fil-A Southaven holds SuperHero festival event

A local restaurant is hosting a special and fun event this week that offers a lot of fun, while supporting an outreach arm of a Southaven church.
Thursday, Oct. 28 from 5-8 p.m. is the Superhero Fall Festival, hosted by Chick-fil-A Southaven, at the Brown Missionary Baptist Church location on Swinnea Road.
The family-friendly event will feature Marvel/ DC Superhero characters, who will be there for photo ops. Some Southaven police officers, firefighters and EMS personnel will be on hand along with members of the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Department.
There will be tours of a fire engine, ambulance, police cruiser.
Chick-fil-A boxed meals and beverages will be served and all those who purchase a ticket will have a chance to win one of two Chick-fil-A for a Year prizes.
Tickets will be sold through Eventbrite and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Mid-South Genesis Foundation Fund, an arm of Brown Missionary Baptist Church outreach ministries.
“This fund has provided over 30,000 meals to the community and educational services for students and their families,” said April Armstrong of Chick-fil-A of Southaven. “This fund has helped award over $200,000 in scholarships each year to students enrolled in higher learning. In addition, the fund will also be used to help develop affordable housing for seniors and low-income families.”
