The Southaven Chamber announced a luau-themed Patio Social intended to mix business networking with a summer celebration, organizers said. Sponsors include Tropical Getaways and Standard Sales Company, Mississippi.

Organizers said the quarterly luncheon will feature keynote speakers Dr. Violiza Inoa and Dr. Neha Kumar. Seats are limited and registration is required.

The Southaven Police Department remembered Lt. James “Billy” Lance, who was killed in the line of duty in 1988, and the more than 24,000 officers who have died while serving, the department said.

Horn Lake Police Department said a man shown in photos took more than $600 from a 64-year-old customer’s purse while she shopped May 14, 2026. Police asked anyone who recognizes the man nicknamed ‘Bandit’ to contact them.

May 15 marks Police Memorial Day, a time to honor fallen officers nationwide. The day is part of Police Week, commemorating bravery and service across the country.

Organizers said AFair will return Saturday, May 23, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. They said they will not be at the event this week but invited visitors to attend next weekend.

The City of Olive Branch said Mayor Ken Adams and the Board of Aldermen welcomed David Flagg to the city’s Parks and Recreation Department. The city said it is thankful to have him on the team.
