Officials said EMS Week begins today and urged residents to recognize paramedics, EMTs and drivers for their lifesaving work and constant readiness.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed northeast Arkansas, the Missouri bootheel and far West Tennessee in a Slight Risk for severe thunderstorms on Tuesday, with a Marginal Risk to the east. The SPC said large hail and damaging winds are the primary threats.

Olive Branch recognized its Emergency Services Division for efforts to protect residents during EMS Week, Mayor Ken Adams said in a statement from the Olive Branch Fire Department.

The Southaven Chamber is inviting members to a luau party featuring Hawaiian shirts, networking, and summer fun, sponsored by Tropical Getaways and Standard Sales Company.

Coworkers and friends celebrated the retirement of Deputy Court Clerk Cathi Faxon, the City of Southaven said. Faxon joined the city on April 23, 2012, and served 12 years as courtroom deputy clerk to Judge Jody Neyman.

Mayor Ken Adams and the Olive Branch Board of Aldermen will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the City Municipal Court Building, the City of Olive Branch said. The meeting is open to the public and will be live streamed on the city’s YouTube channel.

The Olive Branch Police Department said its Citizens’ Police Academy Week 8 session included demonstrations on defensive tactics, presentations on crossing guards and a tour of a new animal control facility.

The Olive Branch Police Department thanked Lynn, Nellie and Zach Delorme for bringing fresh fruit and cookies during National Police Week, the department said.

Methodist Olive Branch Hospital staff visited Olive Branch police to deliver snacks in recognition of National Police Week, the police department said.
