Memorial Day observances emphasized sacrifice, courage and gratitude for the freedoms secured by service members who died in military service.

The Olive Branch Police Department said it attended an annual Memorial Day tribute hosted by the Olive Branch Knights of Columbus and participated in a roll call of the interred.

The Southaven Chamber said its office will be closed in observance of Memorial Day to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice. The chamber said it will resume normal business hours tomorrow and provided an email for assistance.

Organizers said the monthly Coffee With a Member event is sponsored by BIM Designs/Pure Focus Media LLC, with coffee provided by Coffee Central by Ethnos. The event is described as a relaxed morning of networking and support for chamber members.

The Chamber and travel company Tropical Getaways said bookings are now open for a cruise whose proceeds will benefit the Chamber Foundation. The Chamber said the trip is open to nonmembers.

Southaven Municipal Court announced it will relocate to 8912 Northwest Drive and warned of temporary phone interruptions on May 26-27, 2026. Officials said the court’s phone number will not change and urged use of online resources.

The Olive Branch Police Department will be closed Monday, May 25, for Memorial Day, the city said. Emergency services will not be affected.

Northwest Mississippi Community College said faculty and staff, not just students, completed further education this year. The college congratulated them and said it looks forward to the impact of their new skills.

The Olive Branch Police Department said Class 33 completed Emergency Vehicle Operator Course training and a live drone demonstration, with instructors and city officials introduced during the event.

The Olive Branch Police Department congratulated participants who completed a multiweek Citizens Police Academy that covered patrol work, investigations, K-9 demonstrations, defensive tactics, EVOC and drone operations.
