The Olive Branch Police Department said it attended an annual Memorial Day tribute hosted by the Olive Branch Knights of Columbus at Blocker Street Cemetery and participated in calling the roll of those interred.
In a department post, officials quoted a phrase reading, “REMEMBER….. THOSE THAT NEVER WILL RETURN, BUT WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN,” and wrote, “HERE AM I… SEND ME,” the post said. The department said it was “humbled and honored” to take part.
The post thanked Brantley Funeral Home and other organizers for arranging the ceremony and said the department will continue to “honor, remember, and never forget” the service and sacrifice of military members, past and present. The post included hashtags such as #MemorialDay and #NeverForget, the department said.
The department’s post was signed “Ken Adams, Olive Branch Mayor, City of Olive Branch – Government,” according to the department.
