The Southaven Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly ‘Coffee with a Member’ networking event from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Friday, July 24, at Angela Kidd Insurance, the chamber said.

The Batesville Police Department in Mississippi said Officer Caleb Lantern has graduated from the police academy and praised his service to the community.

The Southaven Fire Department announced the promotion of Jeremy Hodges to captain, citing his 18 years of service and his 2014 certification as a paramedic. The department said Hodges will serve as one of two captains on C-Shift and will supervise personnel and emergency responses.

A 13-week GriefShare support group will begin Aug. 4 and meet Tuesdays evenings, organizers said. Facilitator Patrick Winans said the group aims to help people understand and cope with grief.
