City officials urged residents to use multiple ways to receive severe weather warnings and said they can sign up by texting “olivebranch” to 888777.

The City of Olive Branch recommends residents sign up for multiple alert methods. The city posted an expired tornado warning dated April 28, 2026, saying the warning had been extended until 10 p.m.

Organizers said Student Appreciation Day will be held tomorrow with a cookout, lawn games and an outdoor picnic. Students were invited to bring friends and come hungry.

The tornado watch issued for the area has been canceled, and the community safe room has closed after remaining open during the alert.
