The American Legion Department of Mississippi named DeSoto County Sheriff Thomas E. Tuggle II its 2026 Law Enforcement Officer of the Year, the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office said. He will advance to the national competition in Indianapolis.

The production team said the stage show is still coming together, offering a behind-the-scenes peek as costumes, props and effects are assembled. Tickets are available at dftonline.org.

The Rangers celebrated their cheer team’s status as three-time national champions with a ring ceremony, the team said.

Northwest Mississippi Community College said its Leadership Forum Retreat concluded at the college’s new Athletic Performance Facility, offering leaders a chance to connect and plan future goals.

The Southaven Chamber invited the public to a ribbon-cutting Wednesday, July 29 at 2 p.m. to welcome Integrity Real Estate Services at 5740 Getwell Road. Organizers said attendees can meet the team and learn about the company’s services.
