Mississippi Rental Assistance Grant Program

Funding is available to help with uncollected rent for rental property owners.

Funding is still available for landlords in MDA’s Mississippi Rental Assistance Grant Program (MRAP). A total of $15 million from the state is available for residential landlords whose tenants are behind on rent due to COVID-19.

Landlords are eligible for a grant up to $30,000 to cover back rent from March 1-Dec. 31. The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) encourages small mom-and-pop rental owners with only one or two properties to apply, as well as apartment building owners. This funding is meant to help rental owners avoid the eviction process and have funding necessary to maintain their properties.

Property owners must apply by Nov. 15. They will need a copy of the lease and previous years’ tax returns to apply. Visit www.mississippi.org/mrap to apply.
