Latest COVID-19 numbers

On Friday, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 7,839 new cases of COVID-19 and there were 48 additional death reports in the state. 

Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020, the number of positive cases reported in the state is at 751,862 and there have been 11,250 people who have died from COVID-19 in Mississippi.

Information on vaccines is also available on the MSDH website. Vaccinations are available for all residents age 5 and older.  

Click here for the county-by-county totals. DeSoto County has seen a total of 47,659 cases and 494 people have died from COVID-19. 

The newest MSDH report shows that, as of Feb. 4, 1,490,308 people are fully vaccinated and 3,628,759 doses have been administered in total.
