Sardis Lake annual Youth Fishing Rodeo

Sardis Lake will host its annual Youth Fishing Rodeo on April 27 at the Cypress Point Recreation Area. Onsite registration will begin at 7 a.m. with the rodeo starting at 7:30 a.m.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District is again partnering with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks, First Security Bank of Batesville and Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid in Memphis for the event.

A section of the Lower Lake at Cypress Point Recreation Area will be netted off and stocked with catfish. All participants must register prior to selecting a fishing site in the netted area. Participants must be 1 – 15 years of age and accompanied by an adult. Participants must bring their own fishing equipment and bait. Participants are also asked to bring a cooler or stringer if they want to keep their fish.
