Hernando uses inside/outside attack to down defending champ Ripley

Hernando jumped on defending 4A champion Ripley early and often on Saturday at the Hoops for Hope event at Lewisburg. Their mix of dominant inside play and stellar guard play was too much for the visitors from Tippah County.

Hernando used a balanced scoring attack and jumped out to a 14-6 first quarter lead en route to a 47-30 victory.

Damyia Cummings controlled the permiter and Abbey Harrison was unstoppable in the paint for Hernando in the first half as they each contributed 9 points as HHS took a 25-11 lead into the break.

Harrison would lead the Lady Tigers with 14 points and 5 blocks on the day.

Cummings would finish with 11 points. Andrea Manning would add 9 points while Victoria Walton contributed 7.

Hernando remains undefeated on the season. They are back in action Tuesday against Holly Springs.
