A Southaven business is a partner in the hiring process for its ability to screen potential employees for drugs and let the employer know the applicants are ready for work. At the same time, True Medical Testing offers COVID-19 testing, B-12 shots, flu shots, and other similar services for people who need them.
True Medical Testing LLC is what was American Testing and is located at 8727 Northwest Drive in Southaven, said company president Jeff King.
“American Testing has been here for about nine years of operation, doing drug screens,” King said. “We’re locally-based but we do drug screens and background medical screens. The two companies have merged and will be operating under the True Medical brand.”
True Medical Testing offers services to the employer, ranging from DOT and non-DOT drug testing for pre-employment, random testing, and post-accident tests.
Criminal background screens are also available from True Medical Testing, and King said staff from the firm can offer B-12 and flu shots.
“We also run and manage random drug testing programs for companies, such as DOT-regulated truck lines, truck drivers, bus drivers, or whatever it might be,” said King. “We have expanded services from drug testing to include background screenings and pre-employment background screenings.
King said True Medical Testing has also added COVID-19 testing with rapid results.
“As we’re living in the COVID world, we’ve had employers express interest in rapid COVID tests, so we’re doing rapid COVID testing for some employers in the area,” King noted.
True Medical Testing works to offer a service that brings value to an employer.
“We are an employer solution company,” King said. “We started out doing drug testing for pre-employment candidates. We like to think of ourselves as being a partner, helping them provide a safe workplace. We try to provide any service that brings value.”
King added that while True Medical Testing is primarily for employers, people do walk in for COVID-19 testing
“People walk in all of the time COVID testing, B-12 shots, and drug screens,” King said. “Our business is really tied to hiring, the majority of what comes here is pre-employment. Our core business is for industrial employers but we have personal fees for service.”
True Medical Testing is offering B-12 and Lipo shots during a Community Shred Day on Thursday, Feb. 25. The Community Shred Day at the Southaven Chamber of Commerce office, 500 Main Street in Southaven, is from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Iron Mountain will be providing the shredder to handle the shredding of materials that need to be disposed of.
