Southaven to Relocate Police and Fire Training Center with $40M Investment

Southaven will soon relocate its police and fire training center, according to Mayor Musselwhite. The city has signed a contract with MZX Tech, LLC, an affiliate of SpaceXAI, to move the facility to a property on Swinnea Road, south of Stateline Road.

The deal involves a land swap, transferring ownership of the city’s 51-acre site on Tulane Road in exchange for 69 acres of land surrounding an existing 20-acre parcel and $40 million for new facilities, Musselwhite said in a statement.

He described the investment as unprecedented for the city, county, and state, and potentially the country. Musselwhite added that the current facilities were functional but not ideal. The new, centralized site will improve training efficiency and capabilities.

The funding will support the construction of state-of-the-art facilities designed to enhance training for public safety personnel. Officials expect the upgrade to bolster recruitment and maintain the Southaven Police and Fire Departments’ elite status for years to come.

More details are available on the city’s official blog.
