Southaven will hold the inaugural West End Retro Race 5K and Family Fun Run on Oct. 31, 2026, Mayor Musselwhite wrote on the city’s blog. The event is intended to combine fitness and family activities while raising money for the redevelopment of Original Southaven, the city said.
The course will begin at City Hall, run down Northwest Drive to Stateline Road, pass through the Carriage Hills neighborhood and finish at Saucier Park, where organizers plan a post-race celebration with food, family activities and live music, the blog post said.
Organizers are inviting runners, walkers, families and local businesses to participate in the 5K or a 1K family run. Mayor Musselwhite wrote that the event will carry an 1980s retro theme and encouraged participants to wear period attire.
The city said 100% of event proceeds will go to West End revitalization projects, including public space improvements, community space enhancements and greenway connections in Original Southaven.
Early-bird registration is open, with the discounted rate ending Aug. 31, 2026, according to the city. Registration is available through the city’s website and the RunSignUp page, the announcement said.
