Southaven promotes Trey Bledsoe to fire chief
Trey Bledsoe was sworn in as the new fire chief for the city of Southaven, according to a post on the mayor’s blog. Bledsoe has served as deputy fire chief since January 2018, working under retired Fire Chief Danny Scallions.
Bledsoe joined the Southaven Fire Department in August 1999 as a firefighter. He was promoted to driver in 2004, lieutenant in 2008 and captain in 2016, department officials said.
A DeSoto County native, Bledsoe graduated from Hernando High School and attended Northwest Community College. He earned a degree in information systems management from Christian Brothers University in Memphis.
Bledsoe has been married for 30 years to his wife, Vallerie. The couple has two daughters, Nikki and Rachel.
Officials described Bledsoe as a highly regarded professional and a valuable asset to the department. His experience and leadership are seen as key assets for guiding the department through upcoming challenges.
