The Southaven Fire Department is teaming up with NFPA for this year’s Fire Prevention Week, held Oct. 4-10, under the theme “Charge into Fire Safety™: Safe Charging Is a Superpower.” The campaign focuses on making smart choices when charging devices and preventing lithium-ion battery fires.
The department urged the public to help spread the message that everyday actions can help prevent lithium-ion battery fires. It encouraged people to use their “charging superpower” by making smart choices every time they plug in.
