Shelter to observe National Rescue Dog Day

In observance of National Rescue Dog Day on Thursday, May 20, the Horn Lake Animal Shelter will hold extended adoption hours from 5-7 p.m. to celebrate.

According to the website, National Rescue Dog Day was founded by Lisa Wiehebrink of Tails That Teach to bring awareness to the countless number of amazing dogs in shelters waiting to be adopted, to promote humane education for young children, and to encourage spay/neuter.

People can view adoptable dogs before coming to the Thursday event at the Horn Lake Animal Shelter by viewing the Shelter’s Petfinder link.
