New exhibit highlights local photography

Who: Southaven Arts Council partnering with DeSoto Camera Club

Participating photographers: Carol Bailey, Temple Daniels, Tommy Daniels, Richard Finimore, Sanford Gore, and Carol McGarrity

What: an exhibit of photos taken by members of Southaven Arts Council as well as members of DeSoto Camera Club

Where: in the art gallery maintained by Southaven Arts Council inside M.R. Davis Southaven Public Library located at 8554 Northwest Dr., Southaven, MS 3867

When: The exhibit is now open and on view until the end of June. The gallery is open for anyone to view during the library’s open hours.

Why: May is National Photography Month. The Southaven Arts Council includes some pretty great photographers as members. We also know we have plenty of members who might not consider themselves photographers but snap great photos. We wanted to give artists who aren’t necessarily painters a chance to show what their creative eyes sees. We reached out to DeSoto Camera Club because we want to partner with other organizations in our community.
