Realtors, Rotary give toys, bikes, for Christmas

Members of the Northwest Mississippi Association of Realtors and the Rotary Club of Olive Branch have been collecting toys and bikes in recent weeks to give to children for Christmas.

Friday, in front of Landers Ford South in Southaven, Ol’ Saint Nick himself was on hand help gather up the toys and get them on their way to their destination, which was the Palmer Home, House of Grace, and Apelah foster care.

In the past, a toy collection drive was done to help Toys for Tots, but with no local program being done this year, the Realtors and Rotary designated the three nonprofit agencies for youngsters as beneficiaries of this year’s Toy Drive.

Rebel 95.3 Radio was broadcasting during Friday to urge people to come by and give, and the DeSoto County Ghostbusters were also supporting the effort. Following are some photos from the event that brought in close to 50 bikes as well as assorted toys for the children.

Members of the Rotary Club of Olive Branch Tracy Kirkley, Andrew Pressman, and Stephanie Lawson joined Santa in the toy and bike donation day.
Santa Claus had a big haul of toys and bikes to give to the children of Apelah, Palmer Home, and House of Grace.
