Panola County Sheriffs Office warned residents of a phone scam after a local business reported a suspicious call, the office said.
According to a post by the sheriffs office, Drew at HoneyBee Coffee Cupboard said the caller identified himself as “Detective Jon Summerville” and told him he had a 350-page indictment that required a meeting.
The sheriffs office said Drew immediately recognized the call as a scam.
The office posted the phone number used by the caller, 662-699-1100, on its social media page, the post said.
