Olive Branch to move on funds for new fire station, park

Olive Branch aldermen Tuesday night approved a move forward to obtain an $8 million bond which will be used to add a fire station and city park in the 18.8 square mile area that was most recently annexed.

“We are searching for the location of locations for these 2 items and working with the Fire Rating Bureau in order to locate the fire station in the best area to serve Olive Branch residents and businesses,” said Mayor Ken Adams. He added the goal is to have the financing, site selection and groundbreaking sometime during calendar year 2023.

“We may co-locate the fire station and park or may locate them separately depending on the real estate we locate,” said Mayor Adams.

The agenda from Tuesday’s meeting may be found on the official City of Olive Branch website
