Olive Branch seeks hotel-motel tax approval from legislature

Olive Branch aldermen this week passed a resolution asking state lawmakers to approve legislation that would allow the city to impose an additional one percent hotel-motel sales tax.

City officials say the added funds would be used to improve the city parks.

The state approval would come under local and private legislation that would authorize the city to add the tax to a hotel bill.
