Olive Branch police join Horn Lake football field ceremony marking Sept. 11 anniversary
The Olive Branch Police Department said it was invited onto the Horn Lake football field last night to stand together during the National Anthem as America was honored on the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001.
In a post, the department said the observance remembered the people who died that day at the hands of what it called an outside enemy of the country, as well as the heroes who ran toward danger while others fled.
The department also remembered firefighters, police officers, paramedics, military members and ordinary citizens for what it described as extraordinary courage, selflessness and sacrifice.
