Officials mark start of EMS Week, praise paramedics, EMTs and drivers

Officials said EMS Week begins today and urged residents to recognize paramedics, emergency medical technicians and drivers for the services they provide.

They described the workers as highly skilled professionals who respond to crises at a moment’s notice and often provide life-saving care to members of the community, officials said.

Officials said no call is ever routine. They thanked crews for being ready to respond in emergencies with medical expertise and compassion.

Officials said the personnel provide the highest level of pre-hospital care to their patients and asked the public to join in acknowledging their work during EMS Week.
