Mayor, Board Appoint Ward 1 Planning Commissioner; Road Projects, Trail Work Planned
The Mayor and Board of Aldermen appointed Ginger Bacon as the Ward 1 planning commissioner, the meeting summary said.
The mayor’s report said the new court building will be occupied in a couple of weeks and officials discussed purchasing a street-striping machine. The report said Stateline Road will be striped next week and that xAI has installed three sound walls so far to help keep noise readings consistently lower than the Environmental Protection Agency’s 55-decibel guideline.
The report said two roundabouts will go to bid and are expected to begin this year. It also said the Stateline Road West widening project should start this year and that a multi-use trail on Central Parkway will be extended south to Church Road.
The mayor’s report said Airways will be resurfaced from Goodman south to Nail Road and that the city received a donation from Lucky Dog Music Hall & Bar to the animal shelter.
The board meets the first and third Tuesdays of each month and citizens are welcome to attend in person or via livestream, the city said.
