Olive Branch Mayor’s Youth Council explores city planning through mock development cases
The City of Olive Branch’s Mayor’s Youth Council took part in a city-planning exercise focused on how planning shapes the places where people live, work and play, according to a post from the city.
Council members worked through three different scenarios with members of the city’s Planning and Development department. The exercise demonstrated the considerations and input needed for a project, the city said.
The council divided into teams that argued in favor of or against example projects and developments presented to a mock Board of Aldermen.
The city credited Director of Planning Dr. Asongayi, Assistant Director Andrew Hockensmith and City Planner Jeremiah McCroskey with making time to speak with the council.
