Man charged in shooting death of county man
A Memphis man is in the Shelby County Jail charged in the death of a DeSoto County man.
Shelby County Sheriff’s officials Friday identified the victim as James Lane, age 27, of DeSoto County and called the case a homicide.
Detectives later arrested Theodore Cohen, age 29, and have charged him with second degree murder.
Cohen remains in the Shelby County jail in connection with the charges.
Lane was reportedly shot along Hacks Cross in Shelby County Friday morning and was found seriously injured in the 5300 block of Hacks Cross about 7:30 a.m.
He was taken to Regional One Medical Center but died in the hospital about an hour later.
Cohen has a court date Monday, April 12, at 9 a.m. in connection with the charges.
