Horn Lake search warrant leads to Shelby County burglary arrest

Jan. 27, 2025-Shelby County authorities have announced an arrest related to a series of burglaries in the past month, dating back to Dec. 21, 2024, arrests that followed a search warrant at a Horn Lake residence late last week.

According to a news release, Ricky Pointer, age 38, was arrested at a south Memphis residence early Monday morning. Pointer was taken into custody and charged with three counts of aggravated burglary. Pointer also has additional charges awaiting him in DeSoto County and in Collierville, Tennessee.

On Friday, Jan. 24, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office detectives, supported by DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department and Horn Lake Police Department personnel, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 5800 block of Waverly Drive in Horn Lake.

Authorities seized two vehicles, a GMC Acadia and a white Chrysler 300, both linked to burglaries that have taken place in southeast Shelby County in the past month. Detectives also recovered numerous stolen firearms and other physical evidence directly tied to the crimes.
