In continuing their support of community libraries, the DeSoto Civic Garden Club recently donated winter plants which consisted of dwarf nandinas and pansies for the Emily Jones Pointer Library in Como. These plants will be used to enhance the planter containers that are located on each side of the entrance to the library.

Amy Henderson, Branch Manager of the library, said that the Como library checks out around 7,500 items per year while offering document services, computer access, and free wifi to the Como community of about 1,500 residents.

Future plans to assist the Como library by the garden club include providing gardening books for the children and adult areas during April when the library celebrates National Library Week.
