Garden club backs Backpacks for Children at Palmer Home

The DeSoto Civic Garden Club (DCGC) in August made some students at the Palmer Home for Children near Hernando very happy with gifts of backpacks given out at their “Back to School Bash” in August.

The students had an array of school supplies to select from to fill their backpack.

Sandra Stafford, member of DCGC, presented a check to purchase 27 backpacks to Anna Bell, Community Outreach Coordinator for Palmer Home for Children.

Palmer Home is selected by DCGC for several projects during the year as part of the club’s commitment to support community needs.

The DeSoto Civic Garden Club is a member of the National Garden Clubs, Inc., Deep South Garden Clubs, Inc., and The Garden Clubs of Mississippi, Inc.
