DeSoto County Dream Center spotlights volunteer Miguel Gonzalez for National Volunteer Week

The DeSoto County Dream Center highlighted Miguel Gonzalez on the first day of National Volunteer Week for his regular volunteer work, the center said.

The center said Gonzalez shows up week after week to help check in elementary students, serve as security at events and jump in to clean up wherever he is needed.

The center said Gonzalez often says he is “blessed to be able to be here and to give his time,” and that he performs his duties with a smile and a willingness to serve.

According to the center, volunteers like Gonzalez allow the organization to meet real needs and create safe, loving environments where children can learn, grow and feel seen.

The DeSoto County Dream Center invited others to volunteer and provided a link to its volunteer opportunities at https://www.desotodreamcenter.org/volunteeropportunities, the center said.
