Billy McGuigan’s Pop Rock Orchestra to the Heindl Center
by Sarah Smith
Northwest Mississippi Community College’s Heindl Center for the Performing Arts is having Billy McGuigan’s Pop Orchestra on Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m.
This show is inspired by the big rock bands of the 1970s, and it plays through rock classic gems.
Billy McGuigan is known for his innovative performances and productions. McGuigan has played as Buddy Holly’s Lead Guitarist. He has won a plethora of awards including Spotlight Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance as Buddy Holly in “Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story.” He was a recipient of the Midland Business Journals 40 Under 40 Award.
McGuigan has a love for music that came directly from his dad, Bill, who with an out of tune guitar taught Billy how to play guitar. His dad’s passing would inspire him and his brother to create Rave on Productions where the mission is to create live concert experiences to create memories through music.
“You don’t want to miss Billy McGuigan’s Pop Rock Orchestra on Nov. 11 at the Heindl Center,” said Dr. Blake Bostick, Director of the Heindl Center. “Billy and his rock orchestra will entertain music fans with a high-energy combination of rock ‘n’ roll mega hits in a unique, live concert experience. It’s sure to be a rockin’ good time!”
