Batesville to host Scare on the Square Halloween event Oct. 31

Batesville Main Street’s Scare on the Square Trick or Trunk event is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, from 10 a.m. to noon on the Downtown Batesville Square, according to a post from the Batesville Police Department.

The free, family-friendly event will feature trick-or-trunk activities and the annual costume contest. Costume contest registration will be open from 10 to 11 a.m., with winners announced at 11:30 a.m.

Contest categories are listed for children ages 0-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12, along with a Family/Group category.

Local businesses, industries, churches, civic groups, clubs, organizations and community partners are invited to participate as trunk vendors. There is no cost to participate as a trunk vendor, and the event is free and open to the public.
